Microdermabrasion — Treatment Guide

What Does It Feel Like?
Microdermabrasion has a characteristic scratching or sanding sensation combined with a gentle suction as the device moves across the skin. It feels like a rough cat’s tongue on the face — mildly abrasive but not painful. Most clients find it very manageable. Sensitive areas around the nose and lips can feel more intense.
Immediately After
After microdermabrasion, your skin will appear slightly flushed and feel smooth — almost like velvet. The redness settles within a few hours, leaving the skin looking polished, brighter and noticeably more even in texture. You can apply non-comedogenic makeup and return to normal activities the same day.
How Long Results Last
Results from microdermabrasion typically last 3 to 4 weeks. Regular monthly treatments produce the most significant long-term improvement in skin texture, pore appearance, and fine lines. A course of 6 to 8 treatments is recommended for established concerns such as acne scarring or persistent uneven tone.
Aftercare
Apply SPF 30+ for at least 48 hours after treatment. Avoid active ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs) for 24 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, and swimming pools for 24 to 48 hours. Keep your skin gently hydrated. Do not exfoliate at home for at least one week after your treatment.
